La nuova serie Fim Cup: innovativa e prestigiosa, ottima palestra
per il Mondiale U18
Ha debuttato in Italia lo scorso 10 ottobre con la prima edizione della FIM Cup
International e si è immediatamente esteso a molti altri stati europei. Si
tratta di un prestigioso campionato di ampio respiro mondiale che coinvolge già
la Spagna, il Portogallo, l'Olanda, i paesi Baltici, l'Italia... La FIM
Cup è una grande opportunità per tanti piloti che vogliono correre ad alti
livelli ma anche per molti piccoli e grandi costruttori che credono nella
necessità di rinnovare il karting e aderiscono così al rivoluzionario progetto
della CIK-FIA. Gli obiettivi di questa nuova serie riflettono quelli
individuati della Commissione Sportiva Internazionale dello Sport
Automobilistico: ridurre i costi, promuovere i giovani, selezionare nuovi
talenti per l'automobilismo. Ma per raggiungere questi scopi e, soprattutto,
per far emergere le reali qualità dei pilota, la scelta è quasi d'obbligo:
proporre un motore unico! Proprio come nel mondiale CIK-FIA, la categoria U18
della FIM Cup adotta un'unica motorizzazione, il Fim W1 125cc, denominato anche
WKE (World Karting Engine) ad indicare proprio quel motore scelto dalla massima
autorità sportiva per attribuire il vero titolo di “Campione del Mondo”.Con
queste prerogative, è facile individuare nella FIM Cup la palestra ideale per
tutti quei piloti che desiderano arrivare pronti alla prova d'esordio dell'U18
World Championship, prevista per l'8-10 luglio o che intendono mantenere un
ottimo allenamento in vista delle altre due gare del 26-28 agosto e del 3-5
novembre.Ma il nuovo Campionato è rivolto anche ai piloti che vogliono dare
prova di sé senza necessariamente partecipare alle grandi competizioni
internazionali o a coloro che, già in possesso di un proprio mezzo, cercano un
monomanca per misurarsi ad armi pari, o ancora, a quei piloti che devono
conciliare la loro grande passione per il karting con delle modeste possibilità
economiche. Proprio per soddisfare tutte queste esigenze, nella versione
italiana della FIM Cup, sono stati previsti degli ampliamenti a livello
regolamentare, come la possibilità di partecipare anche per gli “over 18” o la
libertà di iscrivere telai e modelli di omologa CH/08 e CH/11, oltre che CH/18,
purché di marchio a registrazione CIK-FIA per l'U18 World Championship
2011. Alcuni cambiamenti, soprattutto sul fronte sportivo, sono stati
stabiliti anche per l'altra categoria FIM, l'Accademia, quella classe dedicata
ai più giovani sulla quale punta molto anche l'autorità sportiva
internazionale, tanto da aver allargato il numero di partecipanti da 34 a 51.
Al termine della stagione, entrambe le categorie saranno protagoniste di
una finalissima internazionale, la FIM Cup International, che richiamerà i
migliori piloti di tutto il mondo: ogni campionato offrirà il proprio plateau
di campioni ai quali la FIM Motors ha già riservato degli incredibili premi.
New series Fim Cup:
innovative and prestigious, the best arena for the U18 World Championship
Its debut was in
Italy last October with the first edition of the FIM Cup International and
immediately it extended to many other European countries. It's a prestigious
championship of world-wide breath that involves Spain, Portugal, Holland, the
Baltic Sea countries, Italy… The FIM Cup is a great opportunity for many
drivers who want to run at high levels, but also for many constructor companies
who believe in the necessity to renew karting and thus join the revolutionary
CIK-FIA project. The aims of this new series reflect the International
Sport Commission ones: to reduce costs, to promote young drivers, to select new
talents for motorsports. But, in order to reach these aims and, above all, in
order to discover the real qualities of the pilot, there is only one choice: to
propose a unique engine! As in the CIK-FIA World Championship, in the FIM Cup,
the U18 category adopts different brands of chassis but only the Fim W1 125cc
engine, called WKE (World Karting Engine) to indicate the motor chosen by
the maximum sport authority in order to attribute the rear title of “World
Champion”. With these prerogatives, it is easy to realize that FIM Cup is
the ideal arena for all drivers who wish to be ready for the first round of the
U18 World Championship (8th-10th July) or wish to maintain an optimal
training for the other two events dated August 26th-28th and November
3rd-5th.The new Championship is also for pilots who want to show their
capabilities without necessarily taking part to international competitions or
to those who, owning their kart, want to race in a monobrand series to fight
with equal means, or finally, to those pilots who must conciliate their
great passion for karting with their economical possibilities. In
order to satisfy all these requirements, the Italian version of FIM Cup has
preview some rules modifications, as the possibility to participate also for
“over 18” drivers or the freedom to enroll chassis and models CH/08 and CH/11 homologated,
beyond CH/18 homologation, provided that of brands registred for the CIK-FIA
U18 World Championship 2011. Some changes, in particular concerning the
sportive rules, have been established also for the other FIM category, Academy,
the class dedicated to younger drivers. In 2011, the international sport
authority has increased the number of participants from 34 to 51. At the
end of the season, both categories will be protagonists of an international
final, the FIM Cup International, that will recall the best drivers from all
around the world: every championship will offer its “plateau” of champions...
FIM Motors has already decided some great prizes for them.
